Method 1: Auto-Save to Camera Roll
Set Instagram to automatically save every story you post:
- Go to your profile
- Tap menu (three lines)
- Select Settings and privacy
- Tap Archiving and downloading
- Enable Save story to camera roll
Done. Every story you post now saves to your phone.
Method 2: Save from Archive
Instagram automatically archives your stories after 24 hours:
- Go to your profile
- Tap menu (three lines)
- Select Your activity
- Tap Photos and videos
- Select Stories
Your archived stories stay here forever.
Method 3: Save Before Posting

Save Others' Stories
Method 1: Screen Recording
iPhone:
- Swipe down from top-right corner

- Stop recording when done
Android:

- View the story

Note: Story owner won't be notified.
Method 2: Screenshot
For photos, just screenshot. Instagram does NOT notify users when you screenshot their stories (only disappearing DM photos notify).
