You will see options to switch to a Business account, Creator account, or Personal account. Select the one you want.
If switching to Business, you will be asked to connect a Facebook Page and choose a business category. For Creator, you will select a creator category. The switch takes effect immediately.

Yes. Go to Settings and privacy > Account type and tools (or Business/Creator tools) > Switch account type. You can switch between Business, Creator, and Personal at any time. The switch is instant, but you may lose some data specific to your current account type, such as saved quick replies or shopping tags.
No, switching your Instagram account type does not affect your follower count. All your followers, posts, and content remain the same. However, if you switch from a Professional account (Business or Creator) back to Personal, you will lose access to Insights data and any active promotions will stop.
Both Business and Creator accounts give you access to Instagram Insights, which help you understand what content performs well and when your audience is most active. Creator accounts offer slightly more detailed follower analytics, including daily follow and unfollow data. For pure follower growth, the account type matters less than your content strategy, but having access to analytics through a Professional account helps you make data-driven decisions.
No. You must choose one account type at a time. Business accounts focus on commerce features like Instagram Shopping and location-based contact options. Creator accounts focus on content monetization and partnership tools. Both share core Professional features like Insights, scheduled posts, and saved replies.
